Guided Development
When was the last time you practiced an assisted rescue in tidal currents? A paddle float rescue in waves? Spent time refining your bow rudder or hanging draw in conditions, practiced towing skills, received comprehensive coaching on your maneuvers or drilled into the many core, foundational skills of a sea kayaker?
While taking a class is a great way to learn a concept and be exposed to a new skill set, rarely if ever do we walk away from a single instructional experience and have gained mastery. Much more practice, refinement and awareness is needed before we start to gain the competency needed to really understand and become efficient in a skill. These development courses are meant to work on the skills you already possess.
Our five-hour guided development courses are meant to meet you where you are at as a paddler. In these small group experiences we will leave our agenda behind to give you the time and focus needed to bring your paddling up to a higher level, whether it be in rescues, strokes, maneuvers, seamanship or anything else you want work on. Every paddler will get time to work on their individual needs, supported by and learning from our group as a whole with the skills you want.
So, make your agenda, find the appropriate level for your development and we look forward to paddling with you!
